Local content still matters, perhaps more than ever.

I’ve noticed, running a local publishing business for the last twelve years, that

people still really enjoy reading about where they live. Walks they can do nearby, local history, community events, gardening advice and stories about local people.

When we started publishing community magazines years ago, some people thought print was disappearing – but something interesting happened.

Readers didn’t disappear, they simply became more selective about what they spent time reading.

Local content still matters, perhaps more than ever.

Across our magazines we now deliver around 70,000 copies every two months across West Devon, Dartmoor and Plymouth.

And what continues to surprise me is how often people say the same thing when they see one of the magazines.

“I always read that.”
